Armlift A brachioplasty, or arm lift, removes loose skin from the upper arms. An elastic sleeve or ace wraps must be worn for about two or three weeks in order to reduce swelling. Brachioplasty is not recommended for patients that are obese, have lymphedema, or who have had a mastectomy.
The Procedure and Potential Risks The procedure is often combined with others, such as a breast lift, and takes about one and a half hours. The main drawback is a scar that extends from armpit to elbow on the inside of the arm.
Potential risks are those normally associate with any surgery, and complications are rare. As long as your job is not physically demanding, you can typically expect to return to work around 7-10 days after surgery.
